MISSION STATEMENT

Promoting sustainable livelihood and healthy lives in a changing climate through sustainable youth WASH initiatives. At Vihiga Youth Wash Parliament, we unite young leaders to advocate for responsive WASH policies, promote climate-smart innovations, and foster social enterprises. We are building a movement where youth are not just beneficiaries, but primary drivers of lasting water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions.

Youth-led solutions for sustainable WASH, environment, and community development

Integrated Insect Farming

Sustainable organic and biodegradable waste management through Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farming and vermiculture. Converting waste into protein for animal feed and organic fertilizer.

Circular Economy

Sabuni Yetu Initiative

Liquid multipurpose soap production using locally available materials. Promoting hand hygiene while creating youth enterprise opportunities and affordable sanitation products.

Social Enterprise

Pad Bank

Affordable sanitary products for menstrual hygiene management. Ensuring no girl misses school due to lack of access to dignified menstrual health products.

MHM & Dignity

Eco-Hub Tree Nursery

Indigenous tree growing and distribution for reforestation and climate resilience. Promoting biodiversity and restoring water catchment areas.

Climate Action

Policy Tuesdays / Budget Cafés

Youth engagement in governance and policy dialogue. Creating spaces for young people to analyze county budgets, track WASH allocations, and advocate for accountability.

Governance

Eco-Edvantage School Mentorship

Environmental and WASH mentorship for students. Establishing WASH clubs, tree planting activities, and behavior change campaigns in primary and secondary schools.
